Hail to all Savage Riders and friends of Savage Riders:
Tonight, on the way home from work, I will pass the 40,000 mile mark on the odometer. I the past year and a half since I bought the bike, I have experience nearly all the little quirks that you all have posted. Things like backfiring, oil leaks, cutting out at speed, weird rattles from the tank, belt squeak, etc. etc... but despite all of this, my little Suzy has yet to leave me stranded anywhere. She has always started. I've only adjusted the valves a couple of times. I'm still on the original belt and battery. I think this proves the Savage is tough little machine. Change her oil/filter and she won't let you down. Ride on.
